Project Description
Perched high on Alderley hill, this grand queenslander had seen a few poorly executed renovations resulting in a dark, cavernous lower level of bedrooms and a poorly ventilated upper floor. Principal rooms were opened back up to encourage cross ventilation and connection to the front deck to take advantage of wonderful city views. By opening the main upper floor back up, connection to outdoor entertaining spaces also become more apparent. With a growing family on the way, this house was under pressure to both suit the physical requirements of young toddlers and also continue to grow with the family. A new carport creates on site parking and a direct and functional connection into the house through a side access, with the added benefit of creating green screening to the residence next door.
